Bitget Hacker Moves $6.3 Million Through THORChain After Breach

A hacker linked to the Bitget breach has moved approximately $6.3 million in Ethereum (ETH) into Bitcoin through THORChain, a decentralized exchange that allows users to swap assets without sending them through a centralized platform.

The wallet completed 27 swaps, converting around 2,390 ETH into 75.2 BTC. The transactions were submitted between roughly 03:55 and 06:23 UTC on Monday.

Bitget had requested that THORChain block the addresses tied to the breach, but the network rejected this request, stating that its emergency controls can halt network activity or restrict activity on a connected blockchain, but cannot freeze an individual swap. The company argued that such a move would interrupt transactions from other users.
