Bitget, a cryptocurrency derivatives platform, has fallen victim to a massive hacking incident that saw hackers drain $228 million from its wallets in just 18 minutes.

According to reports, the attack occurred on 7 blockchain chains tracked by Arkham Intelligence, a cybersecurity firm that specializes in monitoring and analyzing blockchain activity.

The hack is believed to have been carried out through a combination of social engineering tactics and technical vulnerabilities, allowing the attackers to bypass security measures and access Bitget's wallets.
