Bitget Resumes Withdrawals After $387.5 Million Security Breach
Bitget has announced that it will restart withdrawals in phases after its September 24 security breach. The exchange reported that the value transferred to attacker-controlled addresses has risen to $387.5 million, up from an initial estimate of approximately $351.6 million. This increase reflects previously omitted Zcash and TRON assets.
The exchange's Protection Fund will cover the financial impact, with its balance remaining unaffected. Trading and deposits have continued uninterrupted since the breach.
Bitget has scheduled a staggered reopening of withdrawal services. Bitcoin withdrawals are set to resume on September 28, followed by Ethereum on September 29 and USDT on September 30. Other tokens, fiat withdrawals, and P2P services are expected to be restored on October 2.
