Bitget Surpasses Crypto Trades with 40% Non-Crypto Volume
Bitget marked its eighth anniversary on Monday, revealing that non-crypto assets now account for 40% of trading volume. The exchange has been pushing deeper into traditional markets, offering stock perpetual contracts, U.S. stock options, and Hong Kong stock Quanto contracts. Its rToken product has seen significant success, with over $100 million in assets under management within five weeks and more than 3 million transactions logged.
TradFi perpetual contracts and contracts for difference have each cleared $10 billion in daily volume, according to Bitget. The exchange also added an autonomous trading agent called AI Playbook and will widen its Proof of Reserves coverage from four assets to 24. Institutional participation is accelerating, with institutional client net assets rising 45% by the second quarter against the end of last year.
Bitget's chief executive, Gracy Chen, said that eight years in crypto 'feels a lot longer than eight years anywhere else.' She added that crypto and traditional markets are converging, with institutional participation increasing. The company's protection fund averaged roughly $382 million in August 2026, money set aside to cover customer losses.
