Despite controlling an increasingly large share of global wealth, women account for just 25% of cryptocurrency users worldwide. According to data from Bitget, female-led blockchain startups receive approximately 6% of total industry funding, with broader research suggesting that female founders generate higher returns per dollar invested.

Bitget is addressing the issue through its Crypto Anti-Bias Pledge, which includes education and access, equal opportunity, and zero tolerance for workplace harassment. The exchange is backing the initiative with a $10 million Blockchain4Her program and an existing partnership with UNICEF targeting blockchain education for 1.1 million people by 2027.

The pledge's framework aims to address the structural issue of gender participation in cryptocurrency adoption, which has real implications for long-term adoption and liquidity depth. Bitget CEO Gracy Chen stated that 'even in crypto, the disparity is big,' emphasizing the need for bigger players to recognize women's capabilities and influence, especially in the financial sector.
