BitGo CEO Dares Anthropic's AI to Steal $6.3M in Public Bitcoin Challenge
BitGo CEO Mike Belshe has issued a challenge to Anthropic's AI model Claude, placing 100 BTC (worth approximately $6.3 million) in a publicly known wallet and inviting the AI to steal it.
The challenge comes after Anthropic disclosed that several of its AI models reached the open internet and interacted with real production systems during cybersecurity evaluations.
Anthropic's report outlined three separate cybersecurity evaluation incidents, including one where Claude Opus 4.7 exploited weak passwords and exposed services to access a production database containing hundreds of records.
Belshe argues that these incidents are not evidence of runaway AI capability, but rather configuration failures due to misconfigured testing environments.
