Bitwise's XRP ETF Posts $3.28M Outflow as Investors Lose $133M
XRP ETF investors are facing a significant loss after the funds' combined assets dropped by $37 million on October 2. The net outflow of $3.28 million was from Bitwise's XRP fund, which is the largest and most liquid fund in the group, holding about $677 million in cumulative inflows. This outflow was part of a larger trend, as XRP ETF net assets slid to $1.66 billion, $133 million below the $1.791 billion in lifetime inflows.
The decline in XRP's price also contributed to the loss, falling as low as $1.44 before recovering. The token's price volatility has been a concern for investors, and the recent decline has further eroded their confidence. Bitwise's XRP fund has been the only mover on October 2, shedding $3.28 million, while its rivals remained flat.
The lifetime net inflows into spot XRP ETFs stand at $1.791 billion, yet the funds hold $1.658 billion, a gap that has been widening. This means that the money invested in these products since their launch in late 2025 is now underwater, with a total loss of $133 million. The decline in XRP's price and the outflow from Bitwise's fund have raised concerns about the future of XRP ETFs.
The broader picture is one of a struggling market, with XRP's price falling alongside a reversal in bitcoin's price. The weak U.S. jobs report and the subsequent decline in bitcoin's price have added to the uncertainty in the market.
