Summer Mersinger is stepping down as CEO of the Blockchain Association on October 16, after announcing her resignation this week. She will remain in an advisory capacity through the end of the year to ensure a smooth transition.

Mersinger's departure marks the end of her tenure, which saw several key legislative milestones. Notably, the US Congress passed a landmark stablecoin bill in July 2025, and the Clarity Act advanced through the House of Representatives during her time as CEO.

Kristin Smith, former CEO of the Blockchain Association and current president of the Solana Policy Institute, will take over as interim CEO on October 17. Smith previously led the association from its founding and expansion era in Washington before transitioning to her current role.
