Blockchain Tokenized Stock Activity Soars 416% Amid Growing Concentration
Tokenized stock activity on blockchain platforms has surged by 416% in recent months, according to data from RWA.xyz. The total monthly transfer volume reached $29.52 billion in August, with distributed value increasing only 1.45% over the same period.
The widening gap between transfer activity and capital growth raises questions about how much of this increase reflects actual investor trading. To put things into perspective, if we divide the total transfer volume by distributed value, we get a multiple of approximately 11.6. However, this does not necessarily mean that investors traded the entire market more than 11 times.
The data also shows that holder addresses far outpaced value growth, with an increase of 167% in August compared to just 1.45% in distributed value. This suggests that many more addresses appeared onchain, but the value spread across them barely changed.
