BNB Surpasses Ethereum and Solana in Grayscale's Smart Contract Fund
Grayscale's Smart Contract Fund has rebalanced its holdings, giving BNB (BNB) a 31% weighting, making it the largest holding in the fund. This is a significant development, as BNB has surpassed Ethereum (ETH) and Solana (SOL) to take the top spot.
The rebalancing was done during the second quarter of this year, and the new weights were released on August 3. According to Grayscale's data, the Smart Contract Fund now allocates approximately 31% to BNB, while Ether and Solana each hold a 29% weighting.
This move is seen as a demonstration of confidence in the BNB Chain ecosystem and its long-term potential. The addition of BNB reveals that institutional investors are beginning to show increasing interest not only in traditional smart contract networks like Ethereum and Solana but also in the BNB Chain ecosystem.
The Smart Contract Fund wasn't the only vehicle that saw a reshuffle. Grayscale's DeFi Fund reduced its UNI exposure during the review, though Uniswap still held the dominant spot at 34.16% of the basket.
