Boltz Halted by AI-Driven Attacks on Swap Services

Boltz, a noncustodial swap provider, has suspended its Bitcoin swap services indefinitely due to an influx of automated, AI-assisted attacks that have left its development team struggling to keep up.

The company reported months of probing and several contained exploits, with attackers adapting faster than its team could identify and patch flaws.

No user funds were at risk during the incidents, as users retain control of their assets throughout Boltz's atomic swap process. The company absorbed all operational losses itself.

Boltz operates infrastructure connecting Bitcoin mainnet with the Lightning Network, Liquid, and other supported networks. Its public API powers the main web application and outside integrations.
