Bots Dominate Stablecoin Transfers as Volume Hits Record High

Share

Stablecoin transfers reached an all-time high of $15.6 trillion in Q3 2025, according to CEX.io's market research.

The majority of this volume, approximately 71%, can be attributed to automated trading bots, with the remaining 29% consisting of organic non-bot activity and internal smart contract transactions.

Illya Otychenko, a researcher at CEX.io, stated that calculations using data from Visa/Allium and Artemis showed that bot-driven transfers made up roughly 71% of total Q3 stablecoin transfer volume.

Retail-sized stablecoin transfers under $250 reached a new all-time high in September and during Q3, with over $60 billion in retail-sized stablecoin activity projected for the end of 2025.
