BPI Joins US State Department's Freedom Tech Excellence Program
The Bitcoin Policy Institute (BPI) has partnered with the US State Department's Freedom Tech Excellence Program as one of its founding partners.
The program, launched on July 24, aims to bring private sector experts into government for fixed periods to advance diplomatic efforts on key issues including online freedom of expression, digital surveillance, and responsible artificial intelligence governance.
BPI staff will support temporary State Department assignments focused on digital freedom worldwide. The exact number of BPI employees participating in the program has not been disclosed.
The Freedom Tech Excellence Program is a talent partnership that allows private sector workers to remain linked to their organizations while supporting diplomatic projects in areas where the department wants more technical knowledge.
