Brazilian Crypto Market Undergoes Changes Amid Increased Regulation

Share

The Brazilian cryptocurrency market is undergoing significant changes due to the increasing regulation by the Banco Central. Several exchanges have already shut down or reduced their operations in the country, leaving investors wondering what to do with their digital assets.

According to the regulations, companies that operated in Brazil before October 30th can submit a request to become a Sociedade Prestadora de Serviços de Ativos Virtuais (SPSAV) and continue operating while their application is being evaluated. However, if their request is rejected or archived, they must cease operations within 30 days of receiving the decision.

Some exchanges have announced that they will no longer operate in Brazil, but this does not necessarily mean that investors will lose their assets. It's essential to check the exchange's website for specific instructions on how to proceed with withdrawals and account closures.
