Brazil's virtual asset market is approaching a critical deadline of October 30, 2026. By this date, all Virtual Asset Service Providers (VASPs) must file authorization applications with the Central Bank, accompanied by an independent assurance report.

This regulatory push comes as Brazil ranks fifth globally for crypto adoption, with $318.8 billion in on-chain value received over twelve months. The market is dominated by stablecoins, with 80% of declared volume being USDT alone.

The Central Bank has set minimum capital requirements between R$10.8 to R$37.2 million for the estimated 120 providers. However, $1.32 billion was lost to hacks in H1 2026 alone, highlighting the need for robust security measures.
