Brevan Howard Expands Use of Ripple Prime for Institutional Services
Ripple and Brevan Howard are deepening their partnership, with the hedge fund expanding its use of Ripple's institutional infrastructure and digital-asset products. Brevan Howard will now rely on Ripple Prime for multi-asset prime brokerage, clearing, and financing services. Ripple Prime, formed after Ripple acquired Hidden Road, offers a comprehensive platform for institutional investors.
Alan McGroarty, COO of Brevan Howard Group, emphasized the growing need for seamless integration between digital and traditional markets. He highlighted Ripple Prime's operational ease and capital efficiency, which will support Brevan Howard's investment teams. The hedge fund, managing about $35 billion in assets, has been an existing investor in Ripple and participated in its $500 million strategic funding round last year.
Earlier this year, KBRA rated Ripple Prime a BBB, acknowledging its scaling phase and plans to diversify into products like equity prime brokerage and swaps. The firm recently secured a $200 million debt facility from Neuberger Berman to expand institutional margin lending. Notably, Ripple Prime added Hyperliquid, marking its first direct integration with a DeFi venue.
