Share

Coinbase Global Inc. CEO Brian Armstrong has pushed back against warnings from AI 'doomsday' advocates, arguing that slowing progress in artificial intelligence could lead to more preventable deaths.

Armstrong made his comments on X, responding to concerns about the risks associated with developing and deploying AI technologies.

He pointed out that 165,000+ people die every day due to various causes such as cancer, heart disease, illnesses, and car crashes. Armstrong argued that AI could help address these challenges through advances in healthcare and other technologies.

'AI is helping us solve these,' he wrote. 'Slowing progress doesn’t keep us safer, it guarantees more preventable deaths.'
