Broadridge's Blockchain Repo Platform Sees Record $8T Volume

Share

Broadridge Financial Solutions' blockchain-based repo platform, Distributed Ledger Repo (DLR), processed $8 trillion in volume during July. This represents a 28% year-over-year increase and solidifies DLR as a reference infrastructure for institutional financing.

The platform allows institutions to settle repo transactions on blockchain technology without abandoning their existing trading and post-trade operational environments. This facilitates real-time financing and the movement of tokenized collateral between counterparties, improving liquidity management and operational efficiency.

Broadridge's global head of digital innovation, Horacio Barakat, commented that 'tokenization is increasingly becoming part of how institutions optimize liquidity and collateral management.' DLR continues to demonstrate that distributed ledger infrastructure can support the scale, reliability, and interoperability demanded by core financing activity.
