BTC Faces Critical Breakout Decision Amid Technical Consolidation
Cryptocurrency analyst Benjamin Cowen has identified a critical technical consolidation phase for Bitcoin (BTC). According to Cowen, two key levels in BTC's chart stand out: the bear market resistance band around $69,000 and the 200-week moving average at approximately $63,700.
The analyst noted that with the bear market resistance band falling and the 200-week average rising, the price is becoming increasingly squeezed. This will force a breakout decision before entering the last quarter of the year, resulting in increased volatility.
Cowen drew attention to historical cycles, pointing out that July often sees increases while August typically results in declines. BTC has historically performed well in July, with a 7% gain in 2026, but may face losses in August, potentially pulling the price back below $60,000.
