BTC Price Analysis: Coiled Spring or Dead Money at $64K
Bitcoin is stuck in a rut at $64,438, unable to gain momentum or convince bears of its direction. This lack of movement has resulted in a 'price discovery mode' with no directional bias.
The technical indicators are also pointing towards exhaustion and paralysis. The RSI is at 50.93, the MACD histogram has collapsed to zero, and the Stochastic %K is crossing above %D but not decisively so.
Despite smart money being positioned heavily long, with a global long/short ratio of 1.78 and top-trader positioning skewed at 1.90, the derivatives data shows that retail and institutional investors are both holding long positions. However, the tape is telling a different story, with sell-side volume nearly double buy-side volume.
The entire setup hinges on $63,492, which serves as strong support. If this level holds, bulls may be able to reclaim the SMA 7 at $65,139 and break through resistance at $64,755. However, if it breaks, bears may target the lower Bollinger Band at $62,205.
