BTCS Aims for $6M Gross Profit with DeFi Expansion
BTCS Inc., a blockchain technology company focused on Ethereum ecosystem infrastructure and services, aims to expand its decentralized finance (DeFi) operations and increase gross profit.
The company's CEO, Charles Allen, outlined the strategy during a Water Tower Research Virtual Insights Conference. BTCS differentiates itself from other publicly traded crypto-related companies through its operating businesses, including blockchain infrastructure and Imperium DeFi operation.
Allen stated that Imperium is intended to act as a 'shock absorber' against Ethereum price movements, allowing the company to continue operating if ETH declines or remains flat. BTCS plans to expand Imperium to Base, the Ethereum Layer 2 network, giving the company another chain through which it can generate revenue and gross profit.
The company has reported $1 million in gross profit during the first quarter and $1.5 million in gross profit during the second quarter, with a target of $6 million tied to internal key performance indicators. BTCS uses on-chain borrowing as a funding mechanism, providing relatively low-cost capital with near-immediate availability.
