Bybit Sues North Korea Over Record-Breaking $1.5 Billion Crypto Hack
Bybit has launched a civil lawsuit against North Korea and its intelligence agency in a U.S. federal court over the record-breaking $1.5 billion crypto hack that occurred on February 21, 2025.
The FBI previously attributed the attack to North Korean actors, who are tracked under the name TraderTraitor by U.S. authorities.
In response to the breach, Bybit secured a preliminary injunction freezing certain stolen assets held by unidentified defendants, making it harder for them to transfer or sell these funds while the litigation continues.
