Cambria Launches Genesis MMORPG on Ethereum Mainnet
Cambria has announced that its upcoming MMORPG, Genesis, will launch on the Ethereum mainnet. The decision marks a shift from the earlier Dungeons mode, which operated on the Abstract layer 2. The team emphasizes that Ethereum provides the necessary security and settlement features for a permanent in-game economy.
Access to Genesis will initially be limited through an invitation-only whitelist. Players can apply via a link posted on Cambria’s X profile. Each whitelisted player receives a Royal Charter, which includes details like their assigned House, home city, and Affinities. This system ties players to in-game factions and roles from the start.
The rollout will be gradual, with a cap on the first wave of players. The team aims to monitor the economy’s behavior in real time, ensuring stability. Unlike past seasons, early adopters have no guarantee of profit. The game will feature no resets, meaning players retain their assets and guilds manage their own treasuries.
Genesis merges three existing modes, Dungeons, Islands, and Gold Rush, into one connected world. Players will engage in risk-based adventures, resource extraction, and political strategy through city management. The news follows the creation of the Cambria Foundation, which is developing a consensus mechanism called Real Stakes Game Play (RSGP). Historical players must opt into the Genesis Event by September 29, 2026.
