Canadian Crypto Ownership Surges Past Quarter Million
According to new data from the Ontario Securities Commission (OSC), Canadian ownership of cryptocurrencies has significantly increased in recent years. A survey of over 2,000 Canadians found that 25% held crypto assets in 2026, a substantial rise from 10% in 2023.
The OSC's executive vice president, Naizam Kanji, noted that 'Crypto markets continue to evolve, and Canadians are participating in them more than ever before.'
However, the survey also revealed that many investors have a limited understanding of the industry, with some misunderstanding regulation, insurance protections, and transaction capabilities.
