Canary Staked TRX ETF brings regulated TRX access to US investors
Canary Capital has introduced the first US-listed exchange-traded fund (ETF) offering direct exposure to TRON’s native token, TRX, while also collecting staking rewards. The Canary Staked TRX ETF, trading under the ticker TRXS, debuted on the Cboe BZX Exchange on September 9, 2026. This product aims to provide regulated market access to TRX, combining direct token holding with staking benefits.
The fund holds TRX directly and stakes nearly all of its eligible holdings, targeting approximately 90% staking under normal conditions. Staking rewards accrue to the fund’s net asset value, increasing the value of each share over time. The ETF charges an annual sponsor fee of 1.10% and caps staking reward fees at 20%, retaining 80% of the earnings from staking.
TRON DAO and founder Justin Sun celebrated the listing by ringing Cboe’s closing bell in Chicago on September 29, 2026. The event highlighted the ETF’s role in offering institutional investors access to TRX through conventional brokerage accounts. At the time of its debut, TRX had a market capitalization of around $32.1 billion, while the TRON network supported over $94 billion in circulating USDT.
The launch of TRXS follows TRX’s earlier listing on Bitnomial, a CFTC-regulated exchange in June 2026. The ETF expands access further by packaging TRX into a product that fits within standard brokerage accounts. However, investors should consider the 1.10% sponsor fee, the 20% staking cut, and the inherent volatility of crypto assets when evaluating TRXS.
