Cardano Breakout Setup Forms After Nearly Nine Years of Compression
Cardano's ADA token has been stuck in a prolonged price compression pattern for nearly nine years, with some calling it a 'dead coin'. However, analyst Van Tassel believes that this situation could be about to change.
According to Van Tassel, ADA has been bouncing along a rising macro support line since the 2018-2021 period of explosive expansion. Above this support line, however, ADA has faced a stubborn ceiling in the form of a descending trendline drawn from its 2021 peak.
The pattern is now approaching its long-term meeting point, with ADA hovering around $0.25. Van Tassel divides this pattern into four chapters: the initial explosive expansion, years of relentless compression, a breakout above resistance that ultimately failed, and finally, support holding as ADA makes another run at resistance.
One key detail is that trading activity is picking up as ADA tests major macro resistance, with roughly $307 million in volume. Van Tassel argues that this similarity to other crypto assets could signal a renewed period of activity across the altcoin market, driven by growing adoption of blockchain technology and decentralized finance.
