Cardano Integrates with x402 SDK for Seamless Payments

Cardano has integrated its protocol with the x402 SDK, allowing applications and AI agents to pay for API calls in ADA or Cardano-native tokens using ordinary HTTP requests. This integration enables seamless payments without accounts or API keys.

The x402 protocol uses the long-dormant HTTP status code 402, 'Payment Required,' paired with signed on-chain transactions verified by the server before delivery. Cardano Foundation engineers contributed the client, server, and facilitator components needed to make the system function.

This setup accommodates ADA API payments as well as Cardano stablecoins USDM, DJED, and iUSD. Developers can rely on this integration for Cardano's mainnet and its preprod and preview testnets, offering a safe environment to test features before deployment.
