Cardano Partnership with Mastercard Foundation Boosts Payments and Stablecoin Development
Cardano has partnered with the Mastercard Foundation in its Crypto Partner Program. The partnership will focus on payments, stablecoins, cross-border money movement, and settlement. This collaboration aims to connect public blockchain infrastructure with global payments systems.
The Cardano Foundation said that this development is another step towards connecting public blockchain infrastructure with global payments. The focus on payments and stablecoins highlights how blockchain networks can be used for financial transactions beyond simple transfers between crypto users.
In a separate development, Ouroboros Leios has reached a peak of 250 TxkB/s in testing. This figure is equal to about 1,000 simple 250-byte transactions per second. The test was carried out on a local cluster and used emulated round-trip times for higher fidelity.
Charles Hoskinson has also shared plans for RealFi on Cardano, which will bring stablecoin-based lending and real-world finance to the network. Hoskinson said that RealFi is launching next month and will focus on banking the unbanked in Africa.
