Cardano Payments Roll Out Across Hundreds of x402 Platforms

The Cardano Foundation has announced that Cardano payments are now accepted across hundreds of x402 platforms. This development comes after the Cardano Foundation joined x402 as an Associate Member under the Linux Foundation in July 2026.

x402 is an open HTTP payment standard that allows applications and AI agents to pay per request in stablecoins without accounts, API keys, or a checkout page. With Cardano now part of the official x402 SDK, API calls can be paid for in ADA by apps or AI agents using any CNT over a web request.

This requires no account, no API key, and no checkout page, as every service already on x402 can switch Cardano on. The agent economy has indeed just gotten a Cardano rail, according to the Cardano Foundation's recent update.
