Cardano Users Warned of Active Scam Following Compromised YouTube Channel

The Input Output Group's (IOG) YouTube channel has been compromised, posing a significant risk to Cardano users. According to Charles Hoskinson, founder of Cardano, the IOG YouTube appears to have been hacked, with fake content featuring Hoskinson being broadcasted.

Hoskinson directly warned on X that the compromised channel should not be trusted, advising users not to click on any links or videos posted by the affected channel. The team is working with YouTube to remove the suspicious content and reset credentials.

A livestream was reportedly broadcasted by the compromised channel, featuring an AI-manipulated version of Hoskinson promoting a cryptocurrency giveaway. The stream claimed that viewers could 'double' their ADA holdings by sending it through a QR code provided in the video.

IOG has issued a separate warning to users to refrain from interacting with its YouTube channel until further notice, cautioning against sending money or divulging personal information.
