Cardano's RealFi Launches, Offering Up to 9% Yields on Stablecoins
Cardano's decentralized finance platform, RealFi, has launched on the Cardano (CRYPTO:ADA) network, offering lenders up to 9% annual yields on stablecoins. The platform channels unused stablecoins into institutional credit and emerging-market loans, creating a new way for lenders to earn returns. Similar to the XRP Ledger's tokenized Treasuries, RealFi's dollar-denominated lending limits ADA demand to small network fees, reducing the direct price impact.
RealFi launched on October 1, 2026, with a modest amount of around $70 million in stablecoins. However, the platform currently blocks users in the U.S., European Union, and U.K., limiting access for many potential lenders. Founder Charles Hoskinson personally invested several million dollars into RealFi, and Input Output, the company building Cardano, backs the initiative.
RealFi's success will depend on its ability to attract fresh capital into Cardano. In comparison, the XRP Ledger already boasts over $400 million in tokenized Treasuries, while Ethereum (CRYPTO: ETH) holds the majority of the world's stablecoins and tokenized credit. To build a robust lending business, RealFi will need to demonstrate a growing loan portfolio as December approaches.
