Cathie Wood Defends CLARITY Act Provision Amid Law Enforcement Pushback

Share

Cathie Wood has thrown her support behind Section 604 of the CLARITY Act, calling it 'thoughtful and nuanced.'

The provision would shield non-controlling developers, open-source contributors, self-custody tools, and certain DeFi infrastructure from automatically being treated as money transmitters.

Wood's endorsement comes as law enforcement groups lobby against the provision ahead of a targeted July 17 Senate vote on the CLARITY Act.

The Ark Invest founder amplified an argument made by her own analyst, Raye Hadi, who said KYC and AML obligations should apply at custodial on- and off-ramps, not software interfaces.
