Cathie Wood's Bitcoin Price Prediction 2030: $710,000 to $2.4 Million Range Unveiled
ARK Invest's founder Cathie Wood has maintained a bullish outlook on Bitcoin's future price, predicting it could reach between $710,000 and $800,000 by 2030 under a base-case scenario. The firm's most optimistic projection puts Bitcoin at up to $2.4 million in the same timeframe.
The forecast is based on expectations of continued institutional participation, wider use of Bitcoin as an asset class, and increasing demand through regulated investment products. Wood's argument is that the changing structure of Bitcoin demand, including the launch of US spot Bitcoin ETFs in 2024, will drive adoption and increase demand.
ARK Invest also views Bitcoin as having characteristics similar to digital gold, particularly as investors look for alternatives during periods of monetary and economic uncertainty. The firm's broader scenario assumes that Bitcoin's market capitalization will expand substantially as adoption increases, with a market value of roughly $16 trillion by 2030.
The cryptocurrency's predetermined issuance schedule is also central to the thesis, with a programmed supply growth that keeps new supply growth constrained. However, the bull-case scenario is far from guaranteed, with regulatory changes, weaker institutional demand, competition from stablecoins, and changing macroeconomic conditions all potential risks to Bitcoin's trajectory.
