Centralized Exchange Volumes Surge as Crypto Market Sees Recovery

Cryptocurrency trading volumes on centralized exchanges have surged significantly in recent days. According to available data, daily trading volume doubled within five days last week and has recovered from its annual lows to surpass $37 billion.

This figure remains below the 12-month peak of $105 billion seen after large liquidations on October 10th. Total trading volume for August is also reflective of this recovery, with approximately $490 billion worth of transactions taking place on centralized exchanges in the first part of the month, a marked decrease from July's $670 billion.

Analysts point out that the current cycle is unique due to spot CEX volumes competing with spot crypto ETFs. Unlike previous periods, where investor demand was largely met directly through centralized exchanges, some capital for major assets like Bitcoin and Ethereum is shifting towards traditional financial channels via ETF products and digital asset treasury companies.
