Centrifuge Brings Institutional Assets On-Chain with Arc Partnership
Centrifuge, a protocol that tokenizes real-world assets, has launched on the Arc blockchain. This move enables institutional investors to access tokenized versions of traditional fixed-income vehicles. The tokenized funds, JAAA, JTRSY, and HYB, are backed by portfolios from Janus Henderson and New York Life Investment Management, and cover U.S. Treasury debt instruments and corporate private credit segments.
The Arc network's public mainnet was launched on September 16, providing an environment for issuing regulated instruments and executing institutional capital transactions. The Centrifuge protocol has automated share issuance, periodic yield distributions, and real-time ledger accounting through its smart contracts. This addresses the demand for real-yield instruments within decentralized finance, as asset managers seek to temper native cryptocurrency volatility by allocating towards sovereign and corporate debt instruments.
The deployment operates under strict compliance boundaries, with direct subscriptions to the tokenized funds permitted solely for qualified institutional investors located outside U.S. jurisdiction. The total value locked (TVL) in real-world assets on the Centrifuge protocol exceeded $1.8 billion as of late September 2026. Industry analysts suggest that onboarding established asset managers like New York Life Investment Management and Janus Henderson could accelerate liquidity flows from traditional portfolios into decentralized protocols.
