Share

Centralized crypto exchanges (CEXs) have seen a massive surge in traditional financial assets (TradFi) trading volume, increasing over 100-fold from $3.46 billion in January 2025 to $393.15 billion in June 2026, according to a new report by MEXC and CoinGecko.

The growth was driven primarily by perpetual futures, which accounted for approximately 98.5% of total activity in June, with a volume of $387.39 billion compared to $5.75 billion in spot volume.

U.S. stock trading volume rose significantly, increasing 337.4% month-over-month from May to June, reaching $189.84 billion and overtaking precious metals as the largest asset category for the first time.

MEXC's monthly TradFi trading volume increased approximately 59-fold, from $1.54 billion in November 2025 to $91.12 billion in May 2026, making it the second-largest exchange for five consecutive months.
