Chainlink CCIP 2.0 Brings Faster Ethereum Confirmation to Cross-Chain Transactions
Chainlink's CCIP 2.0 integration has enabled faster confirmation times for Ethereum transactions, reducing wait times to around 12-24 seconds. This is a significant improvement over the usual 13-minute wait for full finality.
The integration utilizes Ethereum's Fast Confirmation Rule (FCR), which provides an earlier confirmation signal using validator attestations and assumptions about network synchrony. However, it's essential to note that this faster confirmation does not eliminate all processing and execution delays involved in cross-chain transactions.
Chainlink CCIP connects 78 blockchain networks, including Ethereum, Solana, Base, Arbitrum, and BNB Chain. The addition of FCR addresses transaction confirmation latency while retaining the security mechanisms provided by decentralized oracle networks, independent node operators, rate limits, and timelocked upgrades.
