Chainlink Expands Oracle Reach and Treasury Holdings in Parallel Growth
Chainlink's oracle network has seen significant growth in recent times, with two major developments contributing to its expansion. Lighter, a perpetual exchange that has processed over $1.7 trillion in trading volume, is expanding its use of Chainlink's price feeds to cover more than 100 additional trading pairs.
The newly covered assets include U.S. and Asia-Pacific equities, major digital assets, foreign exchange (FX) pairs, and commodities. This expansion is notable not only because of the sheer number of new assets but also because it demonstrates Lighter's reliance on Chainlink's infrastructure for accurate pricing information.
Lighter runs on its own Ethereum Layer 2 and has a deployment on Robinhood Chain, where it handles perpetuals functionality within the Robinhood wallet. This shared data infrastructure secures trading activity across both environments under one roof.
The second major development is the growth of Chainlink's strategic reserve, which now holds over 5.67 million tokens worth approximately $64.4 million. The treasury has been funded through revenue generated from off-chain and on-chain sources, with the average cost basis of acquired tokens standing at $11.14 apiece.
These two updates demonstrate Chainlink's expanding reach in both adoption and accumulation. Lighter's expanded integration represents growing demand for Chainlink's infrastructure, while the treasury's growth reflects continued income from this adoption.
