Chainlink Expands Swift Partnership to Tokenized Securities
Chainlink and Swift have expanded their partnership to include tokenized securities. The collaboration focuses on making tokenized stocks behave more like conventional securities by automating corporate actions such as dividends, interest payments, redemptions, and stock splits. Chainlink's system uses the Chainlink Runtime Environment (CRE) while retaining Swift's existing ISO 20022 messaging standard.
The system was built for Swift's 2026 Business Challenge and demonstrates tokenized stock dividends across four blockchains using stablecoins and tokenized deposits. It automates corporate actions from record date to payment, including ownership verification, payment calculation, and settlement. The same model could support interest payments, redemptions, rights issues, stock splits, and proxy record dates.
Chainlink's system combines ownership positions across each blockchain into a single canonical record and uses the Automated Compliance Engine to check identity, sanctions, tax, and eligibility requirements before payments are calculated. On the payment date, investors can receive distributions in a stablecoin or tokenized deposit on the network where their wallet exists.
The partnership further pushes the integration of institutional tokenization into the infrastructure required for tokenized stocks to behave like conventional securities rather than simply blockchain representations of shares.
