Chainlink Named Official Oracle for Open USD Stablecoin
Chainlink has been named an official data oracle for Open USD (OUSD), a new stablecoin from Open Standard. OUSD launched on September 30th with over $1 billion in launch liquidity committed by five founding partners: Coinbase, Mastercard, Shopify, Stripe, and Visa.
The group's investment helped set up the near-term liquidity for OUSD, which is live on Base, Ethereum, Solana, and Tempo. Businesses can mint and burn OUSD one-to-one with U.S. dollars without any fees.
Chainlink's technology will support various use cases, including collateral, trading, lending, margin products, liquidity pools, and yield vaults. This partnership follows Chainlink's recent launch of Cross Chain Interoperability Protocol 2.0 (CCIP 2.0), which gives institutions more control over how assets move between chains.
Grayscale bought 629,100 LINK in September, worth around $8.3 million, while Bitwise filed a new SEC prospectus to stake 20% of its Chainlink ETF holdings. The weekly structure for LINK has turned bullish, with the token holding a demand zone just under $14.
