Chainlink Surges on Bank Partnerships and Oracle Network
Chainlink has seen an impressive surge in value this year, rising by around 18% while major cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin and XRP struggle. This growth is largely due to Chainlink's unique position in the market, with its oracle network providing external data to blockchains and facilitating communication across different blockchain systems.
One of Chainlink's key partnerships is with SWIFT, a network used by banks for cross-border payment messages. In September 2026, Chainlink announced that its software now connects banks to SWIFT's blockchain ledger, with 17 major banks including HSBC and Wells Fargo set to test live transactions on this ledger.
Chainlink also launched an updated version of its Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) 2.0 in September, which allows users to add their own verification layers, screen transactions against sanctions lists, and set rules for payment sizes. This update sent LINK's price up by around 10%.
While Chainlink's partnerships with banks have driven its growth this year, the token's performance still needs to reflect the network's successes more fully. The quick sell-off after the CCIP 2.0 launch suggests that some of LINK's price increase may have been driven by enthusiasm rather than sustained demand.
