Chainlink Teams Up With Bottomline To Bring Over 600 Banks On-Chain
Chainlink and Bottomline Technologies have partnered to bring over 600 banks on-chain for cross-border settlement, using familiar payment messaging systems.
The integration connects Chainlink's Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) with Bottomline's network, allowing banks to send ISO 20022 instructions that can be connected to blockchain settlement without rebuilding core systems.
This partnership targets the longstanding problem of cross-border transactions taking days to settle and consuming up to 5% of transfer value in fees. Chainlink's CCIP has been logging mainnet activity since July 2023, connecting over 60 blockchain networks.
The agreement also fits into Chainlink's broader institutional push, including Project Pangea with more than 50 banking institutions across Europe and South Korea managing over $10 trillion in assets.
