OpenAI Unveils Supercomputer-Like AI Model for $20
OpenAI has announced ChatGPT-6 Astra, a supercomputer-like AI that can perform tasks independently. The model is said to be able to read legal documents, write articles, solve math problems, plan trips, learn new software tools, and explain its reasoning, all at the same time.
According to OpenAI's benchmarks, ChatGPT-6 Astra has made significant gains in areas where AI has traditionally struggled, including acting on its own. The model is said to be able to browse webpages, fill forms, work through spreadsheets, and complete multi-step tasks faster than earlier models.
The company claims that the new model will be included within existing ChatGPT Plus allowances, making it more accessible to users. However, the exact details of how the model will be implemented are still unclear.
While OpenAI has stopped short of declaring ChatGPT-6 Astra as Artificial General Intelligence (AGI), the company's president, Greg Brockman, believes that this is a major milestone in the development of AGI. However, some experts have raised concerns about the potential risks and limitations of such a powerful AI model.
