Chainlink Unveils CCIP 2.0 with Customizable Verification Options
Chainlink has released CCIP 2.0, an updated version of its Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol. This release allows token issuers to add their own verification steps and customize transfer confirmations.
The default verifier network is still in place, but issuers can now add their own verifiers on top of it. Chainlink said that nearly $3 billion has been stolen in cross-chain bridge hacks.
CCIP 2.0 also connects to the Automated Compliance Engine (ACE), which applies Know Your Customer and Anti-Money Laundering rules, sanctions screening, transaction limits, and approved-sender lists to transfers.
Lombard is adopting CCV-based verification for its cross-chain tokens, while Infosys, Further Asset Management, and Nethermind are building Cross-Chain Verifiers (CCVs) for customers.
