Chainlink's CCIP 2.0 Gives Institutions Cross-Chain Control
Chainlink has launched its CCIP 2.0 upgrade, which gives financial institutions more control over cross-chain transfers by allowing them to operate their own verifiers and set custom compliance and finality rules.
The Cross-Chain Verifier (CCV) is a key component of CCIP 2.0, enabling banks and issuers to add their own verifier to the transaction path and make its approval mandatory for cross-chain transfers.
This upgrade also introduces configurable compliance controls, including KYC, AML, and sanctions screening, as well as finality rules that allow institutions to determine how much finality they require before proceeding with a transfer.
The CCIP 2.0 upgrade is designed to address the complexities of cross-chain distribution for regulated assets, which often require additional controls and attestations beyond simple token transfers.
