Cipher Mining's stock surged 4.6% in morning trading after announcing a new 15-year data center lease with an investment-grade hyperscaler.

The deal marks another step towards Cipher Mining's transformation away from Bitcoin mining and into the growing demand for AI and high-performance computing infrastructure.

The company will develop a new HPC data center at one of its existing sites, demonstrating its commitment to this emerging market.

Morgan Stanley raised its price target on CIFR to $54 from $43.50 while maintaining an Overweight rating, further boosting investor confidence.

This follows Wells Fargo's initiation of coverage with an Overweight rating and a $25 price target, describing Cipher Mining as high-risk/high-reward due to its contracted capacity with major cloud providers.
