Circle Arc Mainnet Goes Live with 100+ Applications and Institutional Backing
Circle has launched its Arc mainnet, an open Layer 1 network built for financial markets and real-time money movement. The platform allows existing Solidity contracts to deploy without a rewrite and settles transactions in under a second.
The launch comes with over 100 applications already live, including Aave V4, Morpho, and Uniswap. More than 100 institutional builders have joined alongside them.
The network runs on Ethereum Virtual Machine code and supports more than 20 fiat-backed stablecoins, including the euro-pegged EURC. Tokenized collateral is also available from the first day, including BlackRock's BUIDL fund and Circle's own USYC.
Circle has named a group of founding validators, which includes asset managers, card networks, and market operators such as BlackRock, Visa, and Mastercard. These companies will produce blocks on the network in a permissioned setup, rather than an open validator market.
