Circle Brings USDC Branding to Chelsea FC Shirts
Circle, the company behind the stablecoin USDC, has partnered with Chelsea Football Club to put its logo and branding on the front of the team's shirts from the 2026/27 season. This principal partnership marks a significant move for both parties, with Circle's CEO Jeremy Allaire stating that the deal connects them with a global sports community built on a 'borderless vision'.
The agreement covers the men's, women's, and academy kits, but neither party has disclosed the value or length of the deal. Reports suggest Chelsea had been seeking £60-65 million per year for the slot, although the reduced asking price is reportedly around £45 million.
This partnership comes as USDC's circulation tops $73 billion, with Circle preparing to launch its Arc blockchain on September 16. The company has also reported $14.8 trillion in on-chain transaction volume for the second quarter, a 19% year-over-year increase.
