Circle Expands Bitcoin-Backed Borrowing with Aave Integration
Circle, the issuer of the USDC stablecoin, has expanded its borrowing options by adding Aave to its Bitcoin-backed lending service. This new feature is part of the Morpho-based borrowing platform, which allows users to leverage their Bitcoin holdings to borrow stablecoins.
The integration with Aave provides borrowers with additional flexibility, but they remain subject to liquidation risks under Aave's protocol rules. This means that if the value of their collateralized Bitcoin drops below a certain threshold, their positions could be liquidated to repay the borrowed funds.
The addition of Aave to Circle's service extends the range of lending options available to users, potentially attracting more participants to the platform. However, borrowers must remain vigilant about market conditions to avoid liquidation.
