Circle's CFO Jeremy Fox-Geen Steps Down Amid Sensitive Period for USDC
Circle's Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Jeremy Fox-Geen plans to step down after five years at the company.
The move comes during a sensitive period for Circle, which is responsible for the $75 billion USDC stablecoin. The company needs markets to trust that the token can be redeemed for $1 on demand.
Fox-Geen will stay with Circle until the end of 2026 while the company searches for his successor. An executive search firm has been hired to find a new finance chief. This long handover is intended to minimize disruption to reporting, audits, and the day-to-day management of reserves.
Additionally, co-founder Sean Neville is stepping down as a director, effective immediately. Circle describes this move as part of an orderly board refresh.
